DevFest – Building Apps for Tablets and TVs

Google is sponsoring our first annual GDG Seattle DevFest on Sept 29th and 30th. We’re putting on a major event for up to 200 developers, designers, and entrepreneurs.

Dual tracks: Native Android and Mobile Web (HTML/JavaScript).

Sat 9-7p | Sun 9-5p

Our event features:

Pre-event mixer/party Fri 5:30-7:30p @MadronaVentures
Price: $20 (includes pre-party, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday).
Talks and labs by expert designers for tablets and Google TV (second-screen scenarios)
Hands-on tutorials to get you started building apps using App Engine, HTML and JavaScript tuned for these new devices.
Loaner devices to test on: Nexus 7 x20, Google TVs x30.
Packaging HTML apps using PhoneGap to provide a native experience (hybrid apps).
Expert mentors to help you while you spend the weekend learning and building.
UI stencils for Android Tablets x50 (designed by Seattle’s @uistencils for this event)
An (optional) demo contest. Got a great idea to show off? We’ll be awarding 3 Nexus 7 prizes c/o Seattle’s @JawFishGames to teams that want to demo their Tablet/TV ideas and are ready to show off on Sunday afternoon.
