Interested in Serious Games?

Workshops ahead of the Serious Play Conference this August at DigiPen Institute of Technology will give developers solid learning opportunities at low cost.

Developers already engaged in serious games will offer their tips at a full day for designers.  A few of the sessions:

• Tobi Sautiner, 1st Playable Productions, will kick things off with a presentation on

“Designing Serious Games vs Entertainment Games”

• Jesse Schell, Schell Games, is sharing the process he uses at his own studio in a

session called, “Secrets of Amazing Transformational Games”

• Daniel Siegel, Full Sail University, will talk about “Motivational Models and Gaming. How to Imbed them Deeper in the Game”

• Chris Ozeroff, SeriousLabs, will run a session on “Balancing Learning Objectives and Game Play”

Other speakers will provide specific guidance on education and healthcare games. All this for $125 on Monday, August 19.

Unity Workshop: A half day workshop with evangelist Carl Calevaert will show designers how to create 2D and 3D multi-platform serious games for iOS, Android, Facebook and Standalone in ONE development cycle on Unity.

A full day session on gamifying corporate applications will be offered by Mario Herger, senior innovation strategist at SAP Labs.

Add the three day main conference Aug. 20 – 22 to meet potential contractors.
