Seattle Indies SLICE Inaugural Event a Resounding Success, Draws Over 850 Attendees
SEATTLE – September 23, 2025 – Seattle Indies, the city’s premier nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering the independent game development community, is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of the inaugural Seattle Indies SLICE. The one-day conference, held on August 27, 2025, at McCaw Hall at Seattle Center, exceeded all expectations, bringing together hundreds of local and international developers.
The event, designed to showcase the creativity and innovation of the Pacific Northwest’s independent game scene, was met with an enthusiastic response from the community. With a focus on knowledge-sharing and networking, the conference featured:
- Over 850 attendees filled the venue, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
- 75 distinguished speakers from various studios and backgrounds, sharing insights on design, technology, business and art.
- 25 unique sessions, ranging from technical deep-dives and panel discussions to hands-on workshops.
- Over 90% of attendees surveyed said they felt welcomed, safe and valued and would be likely to attend next year.
“The turnout was truly incredible. It’s a testament to the passion and talent within our local development community,” said Seattle Indies Executive Director, Tim Cullings. “We created this event to shine a spotlight on the amazing work being done here, and the response proves that the need for a dedicated local conference is stronger than ever. The energy in the room was palpable, and the connections made will undoubtedly lead to exciting new projects.”

One attendee was quoted as saying, “I think the audience focus and tailoring of the conference to indie issues/concerns/interests made a huge difference. It really felt built to help the attendees and provide a ton of opportunities to connect and share. The speaker choices, panel moderators and overall content were just very well curated too, and felt more widely relevant to the audience.”
Following the success of this year’s event, Seattle Indies is excited to announce that the Seattle Indies SLICE will return. Mark your calendars for Wednesday September 2, 2026 (again the Wednesday before PAX West), as the event promises to be even bigger and better, with more sessions and opportunities for connection.
