How’s the new year going for your so far? Did you have any game dev related resolutions? Hope it’s all going well for you. Start of the year is always slow, so we’ll keep this email short an
January Recap
Sorry for the delay on this post but we’re still recovering from an unbelievable Global Game Jam that just wrapped up January 31st to February 2nd, with 225 participants at our site here in Seattle and over 900 sites jamming around the world all making games around this year’s theme: Repair!

And a ton of great games were made that you can download and play on your own now or play them in a couple of weeks at our upcoming GGJ Showcase.
Upcoming Events
If you missed the jam, the official Seattle Indies and Global Game Jam 20 Game Showcase will take place on February 22nd, 12pm to 6pm at the Pacific Science Center (200 2nd Ave N, Seattle, Washington 98109). Met the devs who made the great games of GGJ, play their games and win a free GGJ 2020 poster! Click here for more info.
If you’d like to demo your game at a smaller event, Consoles & Cardboard in a monthly-ish event taking place at Optimism on Sunday, February 23 or March 1st, usually between 2-8pm. They’re looking for WIP or recently completed game and will give you TV/projector space to hook your game/laptop. VR demos are possible, too! Email David at game@consolesandcardboard.com to sign up.
For the first time HuskyX 2020 at the University of Washington is adding an indie showcase section! They’ll be giving twenty local developers a spot to showcase their games on March 7 at the Husky Union Building. Seattle Indies will be there to help man your tables and talk to guests about the community.

Lastly, Emerald City Comic Con is just around the corner (March 12-15) taking place here in Seattle – you might even see a few of your local devs. And right after is the annual Game Developer Conference in San Francisco March 16-20, a whole week jam-packed with learning and mingling. Still time to still get your tickets for both events!
Local Dev News
Unbound Creations just announced their next title – “Rain on Your Parade,” a silly game where you play as a cloud and rain on people’s parades in many hilarious levels. It’s coming to PC and Nintendo Switch, so you can wishlist on Steam today.
