Happy New Year, Indies!

Jan 3rd, 2019 by Tim Cullings

Hope everyone had a great holidays season! The month was slow, as many departed to spend quality time with their families and Steam once again overloaded our backlogs with inordinate sales! Also, Smash Bros Ultimate happened.

The highlight of the month was our annual Seattle Indies Holiday Party, featuring delicious noms, game-themed drinks, board games, and, of course, all of YOU! Here’s an excellent Recap Video of the event, made by Bilgem Cakir.

In other news, we’re bringing back the Seattle Indies Spotlight series of interviews and our first subject, hot off hosting our biggest Holiday Party yet and being named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 is Ty Taylor! Stay tuned for the full article 🙂

If you’re done with festivities and hungry for new gamedev challenges, the annual Global Game Jam is happening on January 25th! On the 14th, we’re also having the Game Development Career Night about Leveling Up Your Job Hunting Skills, and the Cascade Con begins on January 18th in Bellingham. For a full list of events, make sure to check out the IGDA Seattle Calendar

We hope the new year brings fresh perspective and opportunities to all of your indie efforts! As always, keep an eye on our Discord for any last-minute news and discussion, and let us know about any projects you’re working on that you’d like shared on our Steam or Itch collections or tweeted about from  @SeattleIndies!
