Howdy, Indies!

Aug 2nd, 2018 by Tim Cullings

This month, our community made an indelible appearance at Intel Buzz Workshop, a day of panels, networking and game pitches, hosted at Microsoft Campus! The talks focused on business and marketing, from working with influencers to monetization, featuring our ever-amazing Tim Cullings as one of the panelists.

Ten indie devs also had a chance to pitch their titles to seasoned jury and audience at large. The “Best Overall Game” was awarded to Headliner: NoviNews, “Best Artwork” to Puzzle Depot, “Audience Choice” to the VR title Run Dorothy Run, “Most Unique Game” to Gravia, and Supreme Courtship had a whole new “Best Pitch” category invented just for them!

Go Go Seattle Indies! You can find the full write-up and lost more pictures here.

We also made an appearance at Kobe Kon up in Everett Mall, showing 8 of our amazing local creations. And the recently rebooted Seattle Queer Indie Devs group hosted two GDC Viewing Parties, gathering at the Ada Developer Academy to watch and dissect game dev wisdom. More awesome events are coming, as always!

Lastly, PAX is just around the corner, with PAX Dev launching August 28 and 29, followed by PAX West the next four days. Don’t forget the Seattle Indies Expo will take place during PAX Sunday, is free, AND there may be beer and pizza involved (allegedly!) Tell your friends, invite your mom, send a tweet to your dog, and spread the word.

If you’re interested in volunteering at the expo, it’s not too late to sign up! We can always use an extra pair of able hands.

Come join our Discord if you haven’t already and ping us about any cool game you’d like promoted! We’ll share on our Steam or Itch collections, and tweet about them from  @SeattleIndies!
