Seattle Indies Expo 2021 to be held online. Submissions open in one week!

May 7th, 2021 by Tim Cullings

That is right, for the second consecutive year we have decided to hold our biggest celebration of the Seattle independent game development community, Seattle Indies Expo (SIX) completely online in September of 2021.

Game submissions will be open one week from today on May 14, 2021! Keep an eye on our social media channels, Discord and our recently refreshed website for the official announcement that submissions are open.

As much as we would love to see all of your smiling faces packing Motif, playing awesome local indie games, meeting cool developers and sharing some drinks and some laughs we also want to make sure we are not putting our volunteers, organizers, exhibitors and attendees at undue risk from COVID-19 so we have made the decision to hold the event online again this year. Restrictions in place from both the state and venue have made it very difficult for us to put together an effective in person event but hopefully if we all get vaccinated and stay safe we can see each other again in 2022.

We are excited to once again be partnering with the Seattle Online Broadcasters Association (SOBA) to bring you some excellent programming for SIX 2021 and while we haven’t fully decided on the format this year we can assure you it will be a fun and well produced experience for both our exhibitors and you at home.

We’ll also be opening juror registrations that same day and we need your help to decide this year’s lineup of games so please join the ranks of SIX jurors. We consistently hear from developers who submit games to SIX about how valuable our juror feedback is regardless if their game is accepted or not and we need you, our valued and critical-minded community members to help us build a great lineup of games and provide actionable feedback for your fellow developers.

We can’t wait to see and play this year’s submissions and are getting excited for the 11th annual Seattle Indies Expo! For more information on how to get involved as a volunteer or sponsor email
