What’s Up Indies?

Mar 5th, 2018 by Tim Cullings

February was another great month for indie game development in Seattle. The month was packed with chances to share your work. Y’all shared your games at the Show & Tell, Critique Circle, and Global Game Jam recap. Beyond our usual events, many of you also took the opportunity to share your game with Humble Bundle at our first ever “Pitch and Meet”. Y’all are doing amazing work, keep on rocking it!

Show & Tell

One of our goals with Seattle Indies is to provide you with opportunities to share your work, build an audience, and get valuable feedback. To that end we put together the quarterly Show & Tell event in collaboration with the Living Computer Museum. In February we had twenty games demo at the museum!

Humble Bundle Meet & Pitch

Later in the month we tried something new with our friends at Humble Bundle. We hosted our first ever “Meet & Pitch” event and gave y’all a chance to share your work with Humble Bundle. Over eighty of you joined us that night with many of you pitching games! Thanks to everyone who participated and helped showcase what Seattle has to offer.

Seattle Indies Spotlight

Also this month, Constance published the latest Seattle Indies Spotlight. Constance spoke with Emma Larson to bring us a closer look at the mysterious world of tabletop game development! Check out the article to hear more about Emma’s journey to Seattle and experience designing two board games — Heartcatchers and Conflabula Rasa.

Wrapping Up

Thanks for tuning in this month. Be sure to check out our Meetup and Facebook to see what exciting events we have in store for the future. In particular, for the game jammers out there, check out our upcoming jam hosted in conjuction with UW — EarthGames 2018!

And as always, let us know if we can help signal-boost your game by adding it to our Steam or itch.io collections, or on twitter @SeattleIndies
